“They are handmade”

I was recently asked about the manufacturing process of my straw bags which I was happy to respond with “They are handmade”.
My straw bags are all handmade by local artisans in Morocco & Ghana. As with any product handmade, quality is above and beyond mass produced straw bags.
All my Coconut Lace bags are beautifully hand woven with great attention to details, and workmanship.
Shop our full collection and I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy personalizing them.

Mellow Yellow

TOPSHOP top, BCBG Skirt & Sandals

Yellow is a color associated with Summer.
It’s bright, happy and reminds us of the sun (at least for me).
I paired this beautiful trumpet skirt with a denim chambray blouse for a coffee date and loved how it just automatically made me feel happy.

Happy Tuesday!

The Cape

Joe Fresh Cape & stripped top, H&M skinnies, Spring Boots, Dooney & Bourke vintage bag

Cooler weather is finally here, and although I am not yet ready for my heavy duty jacket. I rejoice that I can wear this Cape jacket again. The cape jackets have been returning for the past few fall/winter seasons.

Hat On

Almost 3 years since I bought it, I took my wide brim hat out for brunch with my hubby. Although I wore it before for an ODJ it never made another appearance and since its the biggest fall trend, it seems everyone is taking a turn at the hat trend.

I have a few tips to make it more conventional and easy to wear.
1. Wear it with straight hair. I would even recommend it for next day “dirty hair” cover up. I wore mine with my natural curly hair and though it fit great, my hair seemed to keep pushing it off.
2. Keep the outfit simple. I have seen it worn with pretty much anything and to be honest as long as you feel confident wear it, but I feel it’s best paired with a pair of jeans, tee and a biker jacket.
3. Location! Hats are great as an accessory but remember windy days spent outside or a date at the movies might not be suitable.
