Bloom Beauty Bar

One of the biggest trend in beauty has to be lash extensions. It’s a professional application of mink lashes that can give the look of fuller lashes yet are so simple to look after. They wash and wear as natural lashes!
Amber Gordon owner of Bloom Beauty Bar perfects the art of Lashes. She has been receiving fantastic feedback from the Beauty & Fashion world with appearance on ET & taking part in TIFF beauty lounge. The makeup artist is a one-women-show running her beauty bar in the heart of Stretsville.
The shop has her beautiful hand painted art on the walls and refinished furniture that she refurbished.
Being a skeptic about the idea of a lash extension, I can’t express how happy I am with my application. The process is relaxing and she makes you comfortable as to inform her clients of the process and educate them about care & application.

3 Questions

When I first came across the DINZ brand, I was obsessing over the clear clutch that Dina had posted on her Instagram account, and the rest as they say is history.
I have been a growing fan of the lovely sister’s Dina & Rima Zahran lively & vibrant personality which is clear to see through their Instagram accounts. The DINZ brand is currently launching their SS14 collection which is being showcased in Dubai where they reside. So if you are in the area make sure to stop by the pop up shop and see the collection.
To shop the collection check out their online boutique http://www.dinzboutique.com
Here are my 3 Questions with Dina Zahran:

Tell us about you and DINZ the brand?

Rima and I were both born in Marbella, Spain, but we’re originally Palestinian and have always been in touch with our Arab roots. Through Dinz, we created an ‘East meets West’ clothing line that not only represents us, but also so many others from our generation. We aim to provide comfortable clothing and accessories that can easily go from day to night, and also make a statement.
We love bright colors, bold shapes, and creating unique pieces. Our work is very much influenced by our Arab heritage and that can be seen in many of the shapes, colours, and fabrics that we use.

What is your favourites piece in the collection that every girl should have?

For me, my favourite piece from our SS’14 collection is the watermelon top with cut-out shoulders. It’s so fun and playful, yet it’s a versatile piece. It can be worn with jeans and flats, or a skirt and heels, or even over a dress and tied at the waist. I love pieces that can be worn in more than one way because it gives you more to play with. Plus, I just love the watermelon print because it screams summer!
For Rima, her favorite pieces are the blazers, she believes that blazers are a wardrobe staple and they transform any outfit to chic and sophisticated. We’ve also created the blazers in some fun colours for our SS’14 collection, so you can be chic and colourful at the same time!

Fashion is currently populated with new and emerging designers. What are your thoughts on it?

Its great! The more the merrier! At the time we started, there were much fewer ’emerging designers,’ particularly in the Arab world. Now it is completely different, with new designers coming up every day. Its great to see people going for something they love and being creative and innovative.
Of course there is always a negative side to everything, and some who claim to be designers sometimes rip off others ideas or designs and claim them as their own, but I prefer to look at the positives instead. We live in a world that is full of creativity and talent, and it’s so inspiring to see so much of that talent being put into my favourite field; fashion!

My Week

Studded

For over a year I have been obsessing over the Valentino Studded heels. They were torturing me, appearing on all my favourite blogger’s outfit posts. When I incorporate them on my Instagram account for the Shoe Question and realized I cant stop thinking about them. I had a few wonderful readers let me know about The Bay having their own version which I received as a Birthday Present from my sisters. But as the universe works in mysterious ways, while vacationing in Malta, we walked into a Valentino & Burberry boutique where I initially wanted to check out the Valentino handbags… and there they were..staring me in the face…in MY size and as the sales girl informed me “last pair”. The rest as they say is history and as an “anniversary” present from my hubby they were mine!
I still have not had an occasion to wear them but I will admit the pair I got for my Birthday I have been wearing none stop.

Army Jacket

Eyes On Tees top, MOON army jacket, DIY Jeans, Gifted heels

A jacket is like a great pair of shoes because it can make or break an outfit.
An army jacket is the same.. It has to have a great fit and the cut has to be flattering. I would incorporate this jacket to endless looks varying from casual to dressy with simply adding a few brooches to dress it up.

Radiant Rose Highlight Cream, 186 Duo Concealer Brush, Mineralized Concealer, Prep & Prime Powder Loose

These are my must haves products for a perfect concealed eye!!
First apply radiant rose highlight cream around the entire eye orbit, blend with 186 duo concealer brush which is a must have too have a air brushed look!!
Starting with a thin layer of concealer applied around the entire eye orbit using the 186 concealer brush, always have a colour slightly lighter the your skin to brighten the darkness!! I love MAC mineralized concealer it has a wand applicator which is easy to apply and the product is hydrating and is a medium coverage and build-able! Ok so this next step is so important using a transparent powder, I love MAC’s prep & prime powder loose, AMAZING, apply a light layer around the entire eye using MAC duo brush 138! This step set all the layers so it stays and the powder makes everything look soft and prevents any of the products settling in any fine lines!!
Remember when concealing under eyes or spots to use many thin layers building until you get your desired coverage, using a duo fiber brush really helps to blend out product so really invest in a great one!!
